Method
- Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

- Drain the water from the rice and add it to the pan. Mix well and stir for a minute or two.
- Add 2 cups of water to the pan and bring it to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water has evaporated.
- Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot with raita or pickle.
