- 1 tablespoon of green chili paste
- 2 tablespoons of Schezwan sauce
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 4 cups of water
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnishing

- A strainer
- A ladle
- A measuring cup
- A cutting board and knife

Method
Follow these steps to make Jain Schezwan Rice:- Heat the oil in a large pot or pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add grated ginger and green chili paste, and sauté for a minute.
- Add chopped vegetables and cook for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender.
- Add Schezwan sauce and mix well. Cook for a minute.
- Add soaked rice and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add salt and water. Mix well and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover the pot and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
- Turn off the heat and let the rice sit for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Notes
- You can add more or less Schezwan sauce depending on your desired level of spiciness.
- If you want to add onions and garlic, you can do so by sautéing them with ginger and green chili paste in step 2.
