Method

1. In a bowl, mix the cornflour, salt, black pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Add the chicken pieces and mix well. Marinate for 10-15 minutes. 2. In a saucepan, wash the rice and add water, salt, and pandan leaves. Cook the rice until done. 3. In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent. 4. Add the garlic and chillies to the pan and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. 5. Add the tomato paste, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper to the pan. Mix well. 6. Add the marinated chicken to the pan and sauté until cooked through. 7. Add water to the pan and let the sauce simmer for 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens. 8. Serve the chicken on a bed of rice.
