- 3 cups of water

- A wooden spoon
Method
- Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- In a large pot, add the soaked rice, water, coconut milk, salt, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and cloves. Mix well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid.
- Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is cooked through.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes to cool down slightly.
- Add ghee or butter and mix well with a wooden spoon.
- Transfer the rice to a bowl or a mold and press down firmly to create the shape of the lump rice.
- Let it cool down completely before cutting into slices.
- Serve with your choice of curry or sambol.

- Make sure to soak the rice for 30 minutes before cooking to achieve a fluffy texture.
- You can use either freshly squeezed coconut milk or canned coconut milk for this recipe.
