Method
1. Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes. 2. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until they are soft and translucent. 3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. 4. Add the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cardamom seeds, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, and turmeric to the pot. Stir well to combine. 5. Add the chopped meat to the pot and cook until it is browned on all sides. 6. Drain the rice and add it to the pot. Stir well to combine. 7. Add the water to the pot and bring it to a boil. 8. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid. Let the rice cook for 30 minutes. 9. After 30 minutes, add the raisins and almonds to the pot. Stir well to combine. 10. Cover the pot with the lid again and let the rice cook for another 30 minutes. 11. After 30 minutes, turn off the heat and let the rice sit for 10 minutes before serving.
