- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1/2 kg prawns
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped

- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
- Coriander leaves for garnishing

Method
- Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and keep it aside.
- Peel and devein the prawns. Wash them and keep them aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
- Once the cumin seeds splutter, add the chopped onions and fry until they turn golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for a minute.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, and salt. Fry until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
- Add the prawns and fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink.
- Add the coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and fry for a minute.
- Add the drained rice and fry for a minute.
- Add 2 cups of water, cover the pot and cook on low heat until the rice is cooked.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

- You can adjust the spice level according to your taste.
- You can also add vegetables like peas, carrots, and potatoes to make it more nutritious.
