- 1 cup Basmati Rice
- 1 cup Frozen Green Peas
- 1 cup Paneer, cubed
- 2-3 Green Chillies, chopped
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 1 Tomato, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Paste
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups Water

- Pressure Cooker or Pot with Lid
- Frying Pan

Method
- Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker or pot and add cumin seeds.
- Once the cumin seeds start to crackle, add chopped onions and green chillies. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
- Add ginger paste and garlic paste. Sauté for a minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes and sauté until they turn mushy.
- Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and garam masala powder. Sauté for a minute.
- Add cubed paneer and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add green peas and sauté for a minute.
- Add soaked rice and sauté for a minute.
- Add water and salt. Mix well and close the pressure cooker or pot with a lid.
- Cook for 2 whistles or until the rice is cooked.
- Let the pressure release naturally and open the pressure cooker or pot.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
Notes
- If you don’t have paneer, you can substitute it with tofu or skip it altogether.
- If you don’t have a pressure cooker, you can cook the rice in a pot with a lid. Follow the same steps and cook until the rice is done.
- You can adjust the amount of spices according to your taste.
