Ingredients

Method

  1. Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

  4. Add chopped tomato, green chilies, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Sauté until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  5. Add peas and sauté for a minute.
  6. Add soaked rice and sauté for a minute.
  7. Add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
  8. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid, and let it cook for 15-20 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
  9. Turn off the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot with raita or any curry of your choice.

Notes

  • You can add more vegetables like carrots, beans, or potatoes to make it more nutritious.
  • You can use frozen peas if fresh peas are not available.
