- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups cooked white rice
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 4 eggs
- 4 green onions, chopped
Equipment
- Large mixing bowl
- Frying pan
- Baking sheet
- Saucepan
Method
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and form into four patties.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Set aside and keep warm.
- In the same pan, add the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in the beef broth until the gravy thickens. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, form the cooked white rice into four patties. Place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 375°F for 10-15 minutes, or until lightly browned and crispy.
- Fry the eggs in the same pan as the beef patties, cooking until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny.
- To assemble the Loco Moco Rice Burgers, place a rice patty on a plate, then top with a beef patty, some gravy, a fried egg, and chopped green onions.
- Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make four burgers.
Notes
For an extra burst of flavor, you can add some sliced mushrooms to the gravy. You can also swap out the ground beef for ground turkey or chicken if you prefer.Nutrition Info
